Thank you for taking a look at Monkey and Bean Designs! I am an Alaskan mama to two little ones (monkey and bean) and I enjoy making all natural, modern and fabulous Waldorf inspired toys using local, sustainable resources.
Here is a peek at my materials and process:
The Alaskan birch and spruce is locally, and sustainably, harvested and milled. All other wood is locally sourced from a small hardwood business in the valley. After cutting, each toy goes through a three step sanding process and is polished smooth with a homemade wood crème of beeswax, olive oil, and jojoba oil. The painted pieces use AP certified non-toxic watercolor and all details are burned in for lasting durability. You can feel confident that you are buying only the best for your loved ones.
